Opened on 16 August 2005, the Inspiration Lake Recreation
Centre (ILRC), formerly known as the Water Recreation Centre, is a
portion of the Contract for "Theme Park and Associated
Infrastructures at Penny's Bay".
The 12-hectare Inspiration Lake, the largest artificial lake
in Hong Kong, is the focus of the development, taking in water from the
surrounding hills.
Featuring a water cascade, water jets, and aquatic plants, the lake is up
to 7.5 metres deep. Apart from recreation purpose, the lake water is a source
of irrigation water for the entire Penny's Bay, including Hong Kong
Disneyland.
